18-Minute Lower-Carb Day Bodyweight Strength Circuit
An 18-minute lower-carb day circuit with chair squats, wall push-ups, glute bridges, and dead bugs.
This 18-minute lower-carb day bodyweight circuit is a simple strength option for people who already follow a reduced-carbohydrate eating pattern. It does not recommend the diet, prescribe carbohydrate intake, or promise weight loss. Energy needs vary with activity, medications, health conditions, sleep, recovery, and total nutrition. Choose a training time when you feel steady and adequately fueled, and follow individualized advice from a clinician or registered dietitian when appropriate.
Complete three rounds at a controlled pace. Begin with 10 chair squats, touching the seat lightly before standing tall. Perform 8 wall push-ups while keeping your body in a long line. Move to 12 glute bridges on the floor, then finish with 8 dead bugs per side while keeping your trunk steady. Rest for 45 seconds between rounds, or longer until breathing and technique feel settled. Reduce repetitions or complete fewer rounds if your energy, balance, or form begins to change.
Modify each movement to fit your ability. Use a higher chair or gentle hand support for squats. Stand closer to the wall to make push-ups easier. During bridges, press through your feet and stop before your lower back arches. For dead bugs, shorten the arm and leg reach or move one limb at a time. Breathe naturally and finish each set with control. Weakness, shakiness, dizziness, or unusual fatigue is a reason to pause rather than force the listed targets.
Warm up for two to five minutes with easy walking, shoulder circles, ankle movements, and comfortable chair stands. Clear the area and confirm that the chair will not slide. Stop for dizziness, faintness, confusion, chest discomfort, sharp pain, unusual shortness of breath, or concerning symptoms. People who take glucose-lowering or blood-pressure medication, have diabetes or kidney disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of disordered eating, or manage another relevant condition should seek individualized medical guidance.
Repeat the circuit two or three nonconsecutive days per week only when energy and recovery feel normal. Progress by adding one repetition, slowing the lowering phase, or moving slightly farther from the wall. Change one variable at a time. Record rounds, modifications, and how you felt. Adequate nutrition, hydration, sleep, and recovery take priority over following a dietary label or using exercise to compensate for food.
Keep water available unless a clinician has advised otherwise. Finish with slow walking and relaxed breathing until you feel settled. A repeatable routine that supports normal daily energy is more useful than an aggressive plan.
