Cherry Pear Smoothie Freezer Packs with Yogurt Added Later
Prepare two cherry pear smoothie packs, freeze the fruit in single portions, and add refrigerated yogurt and milk only when blending.
Meal prep works best when it removes a specific step from a busy day. These cherry pear packs take care of measuring and chopping fruit, while yogurt and milk stay refrigerated until you blend. Prepare two packs first rather than filling the freezer with a recipe you have not tried. Each pack makes one smoothie, so the batch gives you two separate blending occasions.
Set up the two-pack station
For the freezer portion, gather 1 cup pitted cherries and 1 cup cored, chopped pear. Divide them equally between two freezer-safe bags or containers: each gets 1/2 cup cherries and 1/2 cup pear. Wash fresh fruit before preparation and check every cherry for a missed pit. Pear skin can stay on if you enjoy its texture, but remove the core and stem. Unsweetened frozen cherries also work.
Keep the blending ingredients separate
For each pack, plan to add 1/2 cup plain yogurt and 1/2 cup milk at blending time. That means you need 1 cup of each across the two smoothies, but do not pour them into the freezer bags. Keeping the dairy separate makes it easier to adjust thickness and avoids a large frozen block that a small blender may struggle to move. Water is available as an optional adjustment, a tablespoon at a time.
Label before the bags become frosty
Write the recipe name, preparation date, and the words add one-half cup yogurt plus one-half cup milk on each pack. If other people use the freezer, include that the fruit is one smoothie portion. Press excess air out of bags, seal securely, and spread the pieces into a thin layer. Freeze flat with enough space around the packs initially, then store them together once firm.
Blend one pack when needed
Pour the milk and yogurt into the blender first. Add the contents of one pack, secure the lid, and blend according to your appliance instructions. If the fruit is too hard for the blender, let the sealed pack soften in the refrigerator until manageable. Stop the motor before breaking up clumps or scraping the jar. Add a little water only when needed to help the mixture circulate, and avoid forcing a stalled motor.
Review the prep after the first glass
Taste the smoothie and note whether the pear was ripe enough and whether the texture suited you. Adjust the second serving deliberately rather than changing every future pack at once. This is a fruit-and-yogurt snack or meal accompaniment, not a complete meal by default. Keep the dairy cold, blend close to drinking, and refrigerate any saved smoothie covered. Store the remaining frozen pack with its label visible so it is easy to find and use. A small, repeatable prep habit is more useful than an ambitious freezer project that goes untouched.
